"Two tracks by me, with remixes from Sean Deason, Chris O'Grady, Mike Perkowitz, Dave Powers, and Andrew Duke. Released under Creative
Commons license.

Sounds like? I don't f*cking know. There's big kicks, prominent
basslines, and floaty Detroit-esque chords. You be the judge. The
remixes all different, under the broad umbrella of techno.

Stream the tracks, download them individually or as one big zip, or
download some loops to do your own remix. Or ignore it and have a nice day!"

"While ze Germans usually hog all the credit for pioneering electronic music in the 60s and 70s, there was actually a rainbow coalition of northern European nutballs contributing to the rich cosmisch stew that eventually got strained down into "krautrock." Sweden's Ralph Lundsten is just one of those balls.

Raised in a tiny town north of the arctic circle, Ralph was composing quasi-religious ambient space jams on his homemade analog synths back when Kraftwerk's ancestors were still banging on bongos. These days he lives in a castle outside of Stockholm that houses all the experimental instruments he's invented over the years (including the DIMI-S, or "Sexaphone," which produces tones based on how you feel) as well as Andromeda, his space-age recording studio which looks like the control room for planet earth. It's also its very own micro-nation, which is like a regular nation but cuter! (And less internationally recognized!)

In this edition of Motherboard, VBS get our passports stamped at the Andromeda Galaxy Embassy and are welcomed into Ralph's little personal country."

via pizza puke: "I saw a band in Vancouver here not too long ago called Clues, featuring a former member of band The Unicorns (known for using Jupiters, Junos, and other circuit-bent instruments). The music is mainly baroque-tinged rock music, but I noticed during the concert, keyboardist Ben Borden plays a Realistic MG-1 processed through one of those new OLPCs. I asked him what software it was running and he said SynthLab, which I later found out is a component of the OLPC's TamTam music program." See these posts for more info on TamTam.

Futurisk - Meteoright (1982)

YouTube via theinnernerd
"FUTURISK was a pioneering synth-punk group that recorded and performed in the pre-midi era of the early 1980s. As of yet, the Player Piano EP has not been reissued, but you can pick up a copy of a live performance of "Meteoright" at on The Found Tapes LP. The audio for this video was taken from a 24bit/96kHz vinyl rip. Highly recommended.
