JC Cassis

via George:

"I've recently been listening to a lot of this new artist that I just learned about and I'm really liking right now. Her name is JC Cassis and her music is really electro-pop and has like a early 90's dance feel to it. Also it has this Little Boots, La Roux feel to it especially with the synth on it and I thought you might appreciate it"

"Not exclusively bent, but we use a bent Casio MT-100, Yamaha PSS-130, CoolKeys Keytar, some APC type homemade stuff, Vtech Little Talking Scholar, A Yamaha RX-17, and other random toys and goodies. A lot of this is sampled and reshuffled through an MPC and KP3. Plus we rock the NNN ipod synth and a duo of electribe EA-1's.

We just played at Bentfest and had a great time. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks.

Also, here is a video of us playing at the newly re-opened Flywheel in Easthampton, MA. Flywheel is an incredible non-profit music and culture organization and performance space. We were psyched to be asked to be the first act to play in their new location."

"One week ago, our government approved large scale open sky mining in Costa Rica, a country known for it's biodiversity and rich rain forests. It shocked us all, and we decided to create this track and video to protest against the terrible consequences this activity poses over the endangered species of the chosen territory for mining, a territory with a huge water reserve. We also made the track to say YES to nature, to water, to LIFE.

It's not a perfect track, but we made it really fast, with lots of love. We hope you can post it on MatrixSynth and show to the world the horrible threat of open sky gold mining and also the positive effects that music and analog sounds :D can bring!"

Chris Harvey Colonization

"Experimental Ambient Electronica

Chris Harvey's 1995 debut album The White Sail successfully combined haunting, lyrical melodies with inspired percussion and a rare sense of harmony, and was picked up for licensing by, among others, MTV, and Australian Nine TV Network.

Otherwake was released in 2008 and enthusiastically received, catching the attention of Tom Robinson where it soon became a regular on his BBC 6 Music show, going on to appear as Pick Of The Month by US E-Musician Magazine. The album saw a natural evolution of style, into subtly bewitching microhouse with gently unfolding melodies and intricate, sophisticated beats.

No stranger to pushing boundaries of the experimental organic ambient scene, he remains true to his roots absorbing influences from artists such as Aphex Twin, Delia Derbyshire, FSOL, Thomas Dolby and David Sylvian.

'Colonization' continues to move his unique style forward, providing further melodic and sonic refinement to produce music from “the retro-future that may yet come to pass”, promising to be a treat for avid fans and those who prefer their electronic music to be aimed at their frontal lobes.

Chris Harvey’s third album ‘Colonization’ is released 12/04/10.

The full track listing follows:

1. Mesoscale 2. Vita Astrum 3. Graviton 4. Unda

5. Facility 6. Cyano 7. Drowned World 8. Aer 9. Nimbus"

New square_wave album: The Mesmer Eye

"Three years in the making, this album returns to the short-form presentation begun with 'Aerodrome'. This album also marks the first time outside participation has crept in. One track includes sonic elements that resulted from a bad rip of a CD by Phil Western (aka Philth) (Download, platEAU, Beehatch) who was kind enough to sign off on my experiment. And a true highlight for me is the artwork provided by Chris McBeth (Beta-lactam Ring Records) whose gorgeous works grace the covers of many BLRR releases."

"HIC SUNT LEONES presents:

CD - 6 side Digipack, 180gr Vinyl.

This is the first collaboration by ambient master Alio Die with soundscape creator Parallel Worlds.
The unique sound achieved could be described as a hybrid sonic world, made out of bouncing electrons and air vibrations.

The modular machines of Parallel Worlds are merged with the acoustic instrumentation and drones of
Alio Die, joined by the ethereal voice of the Polish vocalist/composer India Czajkowska, resulting in a surreal, yet down to earth, listening experience.

The compositions, being, at times, minimal and calm and, at other times, full of mystical darkness and microsound elements, take the listener into a place were mental and physical boundaries have no need to exist.

The beautiful Digipack artwork is by the painter Romanie Sanchez.

1 Lost Fractales
2 Circo Divino
3 Nuvole di Palissandro
4 Sorinel
