Mike Lynch - a Secret Sphere of Influence

"Mike Lynch is a UK musician who cut his teeth playing guitar in noise rock bands throughout his teens and early twenties.

An interest in electronics, sound and a preference of timbre over tune eventually led to the modular synthesizer.

A Secret Sphere of Influence is Mike Lynch's first electronic release and is composed of four slowly evolving drones with occasional hints of melody and rhythm"

“'Twinkling' is the new series of music videos performed live straight from my studio, here in Neo-Paris.

Since the civil war that broke out in the country, rallies are banned and the last good clubs were looted or destroyed.
The only way to keep in touch with you is the internet, at least when the connections are not interrupted.
So, and until the situation improves, I will play the music straight from the matrix.
Thus, you my comrades, will be able to listen to some new music regularly.

Hoping to bring you strength and courage with this track.
Here is the first twinkling. Thanks for watching !

Murphy's Law / Закон Мерфи by Soviet Space Child

"This is my first attempt at a cover, in this case giving the Robocop theme an 80's makeover, where the original was an orchestral score.

I haven't seen this movie in a very long time, and I never realized how dark it was. As a kid, I remember liking it because it was about a badass robot who shot up the bad guys. In reality, it's a film about a normal guy who loses his humanity. Dark stuff indeed. The new film has some very big shoes to fill."

Paul Alty - Behind The Clock

"Behind The Clock is the debut album from Paul Alty. The album is the first part of a concept about an old man who through an experiment accidentally creates a black hole which slowly starts to consume his time on Earth. This album explores various ideas around this concept, and even away from the concept stands on it's own as an electronica album."

Tundra Toddler - COMBAT SHOCK

"Since 2007, Tundra Toddler has been the pulsating, drifting, musical dandruff of western Massachusetts native, Adam Kozak.

He cites the following as inspiration: feedback solos, David Cronenberg films, okra, forgotten synthesizers, men who do not posture, reading about old classmates being blown apart by IEDs in Iraq, that sallow and sickly lighting that often bathes the exterior of gas stations at night, waxwings, Willem Dafoe, Monster in My Pocket, the vile-but-wonderful machine that is the human body, 8-bit samplers, negative population growth, poorly-written suicide notes, Faxanadu, seeing your parents age in leaps and bounds between visits, soul food, highly sexual music, highly sexual dancing, aleatoric determination

"Combat Shock" is the new, 11-track, sonic result of two years worth of processing a divorce, the suicide of a close friend, multiple family members passing away, the overdose of Kozak's sister, and the monumentally destructive effect that the confluence of these events have had on those closest to him. He spent the fall and winter hiding in his ramshackle apartment writing and recording it with a bass guitar, microphones, a ton of old synthesizers and samplers, a harmonica, a Fender telecaster, assorted percussion, Ableton Live, and some stand-up friends. It's a love letter to those who have persevered after repeatedly being hacked away at the knees.

ThreeHives MM/DD/YY/EPII

In 2013, ThreeHives has been releasing new material every month. This months release was an instrumental EP featuring a unique cover of Mahavishnu Orchestra's 'Resolution'. Combining modular mayhem, acoustic recordings, and all manner of electronics, these tracks were each written and recorded in a single evening.

The first track of the year, "Messenger" was picked up by MetroTimes Detroit as 'Download of the Week' in February. http://instagram.com/p/WScVbeJSQg/

Brett Callwood of MetroTimes Detroit said:
"This shit is filthy. "Messenger" kicks off with some industrial-ish noise leading to verses and a chorus that recalls Depeche Mode at their dark and dingy best. There are hints of Nine Inch Nails and Filter in there- electro-rock with almost-whispered vocals but also blessed with a hook big enough to catch one of those massive tuna fish. The band is very sensitive about the fact that there is no space between the words "Three" and "Hives" which seems a little weird but what the fuck, with tunes like this they deserve a little weird."

Paul Birken and The Dirty Party Snakes

On Kickstarter

"Sophomore Acid/Electronic Blues 12" limited vinyl release in full color jacket based on original painting by DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham.

Hello Everyone,

I've been very fortunate to meet and work with a lot of great people over the years. Many of these became an outlet for different types of electronic music I've created. Looking back, I consider most of that music catalog has fallen under the label of 'techno'.

I am also a huge fan of blues music in all its various forms and since I never learned how to play the guitar, I decided to see if I could create something using the tools I had available. Swapping the frets and strings with Midi, cv/gate, and other oscillator interactions through the various music machines I own. Much like techno, I love the diversity of styles found in blues music and I've found it interesting to try different things and directions. Some of them are stompers along the lines of the jam session I put in the video above and some are more delta-style droning riffs drowning in fuzz and distortion. The project name is a nod to a friend in Germany and all the synths and machines with their healthy tangled wires everywhere. It is how my table full of gear earned the title "Dirty Party Snakes" and exists as my trusty band.

A few years ago those initial experiments created this first vinyl release on Bluecid out of Sweden.

http://www.discogs.com/Paul-Birken-Dirty-Party-Snakes-In-A-Human-World-Even-The-Machines-Get-The-Blues/release/1527740

Here's one of those cuts from that first release. Yes, that is footage of myself

Bluecid 001 Paul Birken "Humanity Is A Corrosive Code"

Uploaded on Sep 16, 2009 Paul Birken·96 videos

'Bluecid 001 track. Stripped down analog synths and some drum fragments. Images provided by moments of my own childhood on super8mm.'

With your participation [on Kickstarter], we can put this next vinyl release together independently and give you a chance to help continue this experiment with the next collection of 4 songs. I'm happy to also offer digital versions for those of you who prefer that. The mastering and pressing/production of the record will be done through Complete Mastering who handles many well respected labels. You can find out more about them here. http://completemastering.com/

An additional aspect of the project I find really exciting is having a proper graphic designer here in Minneapolis create the full color jacket. The art for the release is based on an original painting I own from DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham. I'm guessing that many of you still have those old Djax releases he did so much artwork for. If not, then please check out more information about Alan. He's really talented! http://alanoldham.com

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to investigate this project! If you happen to know a friend who might be interested in this project, please pass a link along to them. With your help, I am hoping I don't have to write a follow up song called 'The No Funding Conundrum Blues'"

Yankee Notch by DONALDCRUNK

"DONALDCRUNK is the audio persona of Jason Degelman, an experimental/ambient artist.  Media begets media, and the sounds of donaldcrunk are informed and outlined by the melancholy fatalism of  crackling cold war era documentaries and the dusty pages of technical manuals, with a lifetime of midwestern emo songwriting binding the structures together.

Unique processing techniques and a blend of electronic and acoustic instruments surge forward behind simple progressions, building relentlessly towards full-spectrum and releasing when the time is right.

In a previous effort with three other friends called "Scenic Square" (2003 - ??), Jason developed a unique way of approaching synthesis and sound-on- sound, culminating with his time spent at Columbia College and subsequent introduction to modular synthesis in 2006.  He currently dabbles in video art and glitched images as well as experimental audio at his home in Peoria, IL.

KAMA#018
The track "the City" is presented as an 'alternate soundtrack' of sorts to the 1939 social engineering film The City.  The second track, the Country is an 'ambient reaction' to the ideas presented in the previous track.  Processed piano, modular synthesizer, found sounds and some handplayed instruments all find there way into these dense beautiful pieces.  DONALDCRUNK has a long and varied history with ambient and drone musique.  Also available on cassette." http://kamagraphrecords.com/donaldcrunk.cfm

Jordan Passmore - His Love (Official Music Video)

Published on Feb 14, 2013 Jordan Passmore·46 videos

"His Love" house single written by Jordan Passmore. Video directed by Logan Owlbeemoth.

For this track Jordan used a Casio RZ-1 for all of the drums except for a snare, which is actually a sample of a LinnDrum. The Casio was sync'd up with a MPC-60 which also sequenced a Roland SH-2 (bassline) and an Akai S-900 (which does the chords). The tone sampled with the S-900 was a patch made on the SH-2. All of that was mixed on a Tascam M-1600 desk with a number of the tones being sent to an analog delay and the chords being sent to a digital chorus (Ibanez DMD2000, which curiously enough died right after the mixdown session utilized in the final version of this song).

The video was made by Logan Owlbeemoth (http://tachyonsplus.tumblr.com/) using some of his custom video art machines. For this video he used the Vortex Decoder and Opti-Glitch, both which are modded 80's Radio Shack video processors. The footage comes from a Johnny Mnemonic VHS tape.
A lossless version of the track is available for download at: http://jordanpassmore.bandcamp.com/album/his-love-2

Oberheim Xpander XP1 | Roland Jupiter 6 Europa | Korg Mono/Poly | Roland System 100 - Mod.101 | Roland SH-101R | Roland TR-808

Mastered by Alek Stark at Fundamental Audio.

Intelligent Vector Object by Plástica.
Design by Alek Stark.

Available in hi quality clear vinyl, limited to
200 copies.

The Shadow Influence could be the continuation of the Fundamentals Of Space Travel series released by Alek Stark on Transient Force, but this is not the third volume of this series, it´s a work that opens a new door in my personal evolution.

The main track is divided in five movements but there is not silence between those movements, is a track without cuts. I made a special edition to adapt this work to the vinyl format. The vinyl includes the digital download.

The Shadow Influence is the kind of recordings you made almost without a real consciousness of the moment and even how you are working on these tracks, in those movements.

Titan's Halo has proven to be a record label that is committed to release special recordings and sadly difficult to sell in today's market but as true believers they made it putting a great care of every detail in the manufacture.

This is a very special album for me, I hope you feel the same, this is a new journey, close your eyes and enjoy.

.

Vinyl manufactured in Record Industry, the best vinyl manufacture in the world.

Super sleeve manufactured by www.vinyl-sleeves.com, the best quality papers. Here we used an Gmud Reaction - Dark Silver Cloud, 315gr. The texture of this sleeve is incredible, is like fabric, and the silver tone really changes with the light.

Includes immediate download of 1-track album in your choice of MP3 320, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire."

Diapositive - Nightwalk EP

"The vintage synth addicts duet, Diapositive, delivers their first EP full of synthetic arabesques, hazy rythms and romantic subsonic waves.

Nightwalk takes you through timestreching pads on a rolling and dusty beat, then dives into rolling and sweaty toms.

Victory theme is all about arpeggios and lowrider driving beats, like a slow motion imaginary flying-skateboard.

Remix from Nasser cheers up the EP with a panoramic view remix, driving from melodic techno to a warm road-movie soundtrack."

You can also find Diapositive on
Soundcloud & Facebook.

The EP will be released on February the 25th.

Duck Duck Punch - RGB

Published on Dec 17, 2012 duckduckpunch·1 video
SLIGHTLY-NSFW MUSIC VIDEO

http://duckduckpunch.com - FREE DOWNLOAD.

"MINNEAPOLIS-BASED SYNTHPOP DUO DUCK DUCK PUNCH RELEASE

Duck Duck Punch has released "RGB," opening track to upcoming debut album Human Chemistry. As synthpop affectionados and general connoisseurs of all things 1980s-analog, "RGB" sounds like a modern mesh of Depeche Mode and a-ha—infused with a visual nod to the classic Robert Palmer "girly" video.

"The video isn't just about shock value or cheap thrills," explains primary songwriter Bryan Rudell, "it's a song about our cultural tendencies to have profound life-experiences through a digital screen. The song itself is about escaping reality for cheap thrills and artificial comforts."

"By exploring the collisions between the collective consciousness & the individual psyche, Human Chemistry became a cynical document of the human condition. Carried by themes of trauma, desire, disease, and escapism, Duck Duck Punch added a little grit to the classic, dance-driven synthpop formula.

Duck Duck Punch is set to release their first full-length album on January 15th under their moniker Truth No. label."
