One Second Before Nothing

"If you had one second left to live, and everyone else along with all of mankind's history and achievements and the entire planet only had 1 second left, what would be your final thought? What would be most important to you? What would you wish you would have time for? What wrongs would you wish you could resolve? You most likely have a lot more than 1 second right now, so why are you not spending the time thinking about and acting on that which is truly important to you?"

"This video started out as just a continuous 45 minute audio recording. I was enjoying the patch so much I just wanted to record a bunch of it before I unplugged everything. Then I decided to edit it down and ended up with a 25 minute 'best of' audio file. Then I edited it down further into this 10 minute video.

This is just more from the same basic patch I've been playing with on the last few videos using the Club Of The Knobs C951 arpeggiator module but this time I added the Moon Modular 552 CV to MIDI module so the output of the C951 could also control a MIDI synthesizer (in this case a Roland Fantom-XR) and blend it together with the Synth Tech modular bass line and arpeggiated voice.

Just some eye and ear candy, I hope you enjoy it. :-)

"Another typical JLR story:
testing out a new module
came up with a sort of interesting patch
polished the turd part way into submission and tossed it up here onto YouTube! ; -)

Thanks for watching!"

"Another planned demo that got totally derailed and turned into a little music video.

I hope you enjoy it!"

"This is a modular synthesizer "drone" (a dark ambient drone, I guess)presented with a poem by my late sister Cathy. (R.I.P. xxoo)

Drones are best listened to on good quality full range sound systems as they are not about melodies, harmonies, rhythms and flashy dynamics but about deep complex textures and subtle changes.

I think some poems are like drones, and often are not so much about predictable rhymes and quaint but obvious descriptions of nature's beauty or lustful passions but are about deep complex thoughts that are stated . . . elusively.

I hope you enjoy listening to my drone while you ponder the poetry of my sister and watch the images I've chosen.

It's not so much about figuring out what this video is "supposed to mean", (I'm still not sure about a lot of it ;-), it's more for thinking about what it means to YOU . . . or . . . just sit back and think of something else while it plays.

Thank you for watching, commenting and rating!"

"It has been a while since I've done a music video so I turned a recent sequencer syncronization test into a little something I hope you find entertaining.

Thanks for watching, rating, commenting and subscribing! :-)"
